Open Space welcomes fiction, poetry, hybrid form and visual art. All works must be previously unpublished on other blogs or magazines, however, works published on the author's social media pages could be considered. 
 
All submissions should fit the following criteria: 
 
Fiction: We accept fiction that should not be more than 2,500 words. You can make a submission for each theme (trauma, anxiety, and depression). 
Poetry: You may submit up to 3 poems for each theme with a maximum total length of 100 lines. 
Hybrid: We accept any hybrid form with no more than 3,000 words combined. 
You can make a submission for each theme (trauma, anxiety, and depression). 
Visual art: We accept artwork in any form. Kindly attach a description and title to accompany your work. The description should be no more than 100 words.
 
Other Considerations. 

• Please attach your work in .doc or .docx format only. 

• Font size should be 12pt and double spaced. All submissions must be thoroughly proofread.

• Your name should not be in the body text, header or anywhere in the document for the sake of anonymity.

• Please title your document using Firstname_Title_Category. 

• Make all your submissions to openspaceliteraryjournal@gmail.com

• If you're making multiple submissions, kindly send each one in a different email.

In the body of your email include: 

• A short bio of no more than 100 words.

• Your social media handles. 

• The title of each piece.

Terms and Conditions​

• You retain copyright over your work. 

• You can choose to remain anonymous or publish under a pen name. 

• We do not accept submissions from people younger than 18 because of the sensitive nature of the themes. 

• Open Space has the right to publish your work online and compile it into a magazine.

• You assert that your work is original and contains no libel. ​

• Open Space reserves the right to edit your submissions. This will be minor proofreading. If the need arises for a substantial edit, we will seek your consent first. 

• Unfortunately, we cannot make any payments at the moment as this is a project. 

 
All contributors will receive a soft copy of the magazine when it is compiled.
